Ce qui embellit le désert [...], c'est qu'il cache un puits, quelque part.

My day included the following stops: Costa Mesa, Santa Anna, Ontario, San Bernandino, Beaumont, Palm Springs and Indio. People were nice and talkative and the scenery was out of this world. The sun was so hot which is what I wanted. One man who picked me up said that it was 100 degrees! He added that it can be a lot hotter than that!!! To me, it was like a desert in an oven. Along the road I saw cacti, palm trees and orange groves. In Indio I found a public park and decided to sleep there. It was quiet, nobody was there and the temperature was ideal to sleep out. The park looked like an abandoned midway but the view was fantastic. I could see the desert stretching out forever toward the east. It was around 7:30 pm and the sun was setting. I sat back on my bench and looked at the dancing sky.
